Square Enix continues to mock the west with their European exclusive collector’s editions, such as Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core, and most recently Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together (which I pre-ordered from the UK and should be here soon).
Dissidia: Final Fantasy is another Europe exclusive Collector’s Edition you can add to that list.
While over here we got *gasp!* a choice of two slip covers as a (not even pre-order) bonus, over in Europe they got the fantastically put together Collector’s Edition version of the game.
The package all came in a hard cardboard clam style box and contained a sample soundtrack (on a miniature CD!), a hardcover mini art book, a set of lithograph cards, and a sample version of the BradyGames guide, not to mention the game itself.
Interestingly, the cover of the game is reversible given you the option of showing the light or the chaos art work, depending on your mood. This is essentially the same “bonus” we got, only the art is a lot nicer.
The PSP, like the PS3, has no region locking so the UK version which I have can be played no problem on a North American PSP.
When will Square Enix finally realize that their are plenty of North American fans who would gladly pay extra for these excellent collector’s editions? The Dissidia follow up and Final Fantasy XIII-2 would be a nice start…
